This song is about my friend who loves his girlfriend so much that makes him don’t care about himself getting pain or not. But she leaves him to find another boy that richer than him. But then the other man leave her which make her pain; then she wants to start again with my friend, and he did agree. So this song, I’ve written with my friend(Sombat) for our best friend. 

The mixing quality not that good but I’m in a process of learning it.  All the instruments were live records one by one by me alone and I mixed up all the tracks together.   

This is my original song called, “Heart Broken.” It’s talking about a man who loves a woman and they both building up their relationship. The man really loves her, but one day, the man knows that the girl loves her last boyfriend which destroyed his heart. The song wants to tell the girl that if she loves her past boyfriend why she didn’t tell him, and why she gives him hope.

This is my original song called “Walk Away.” It’s talking the boy who loves the girl so much but she seems like she doesn’t want to continue the love that they’ve built. So the man decided to walk away from her for her because he wants her to have freedom and he himself not pain anymore.

Every time I go home, my friends and kids were asking me to teach them guitar but I say I’m busy and I’ll try to make this happen. So this is a big project that need a group work but for now this is my work and plan for this project. I have to think of location, financial, schedule, lessons, terms, expectation and also rewards and competitions. 

First of all, my purpose of making this Community Guitar because of people are asking me to teach them so and also I want people to spend time with music rather than spend their time in wrong activities. Maybe those people like music and want to be a musician and this is their hope of getting there. So Community Guitar will provide lessons to students by practicing with instruments more than theory. To start first my plan will work at Takeo province which is my hometown.

This is my draft plan for now:

Location:

• Church(Ponleu Church)
• My teacher’s house(Samnang)

I will need to finance my project but I don’t have any budget right now, so I will do:

• Crowdfunding
• World Vision to sponsor supplies
• Donation(reach out by email and Facebook)
• Each students might pay 500 riels of every times that they come to learn
  • By doing this our financial will be balance

After we have money from crowdfunding and donation I need to buy and do donation for guitar. My plan are to ask from music store, Liger and music organization like people who teach Liger students by Skype.

Term:

• 1 month a term
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Schedule:

• Tuesday, 5 pm – 6 pm
• Wednesday, 5 pm – 6 pm
• Friday, 5 pm – 6 pm
• Saturday, 4 pm – 6 pm
• Sunday, 9 am -11 am

Teacher:

• My friends in grade 12(but after their finish they’ll not teach anymore)
• Me(When have holiday)
• Find volunteers
• Hire teacher is the last option

Lesson:

• Books(beginner)
• Youtube videos
• Design lesson book by me or teacher

Moreover, we will have rewards and competition for students to have more motivation to learn. But this section I’m still thinking how can I use the money to finance the rewards. So then I need to share to the world about this project by website, Facebook page(post pictures and videos about students learning and what they do also make)

First thing to do:

• Form a team to continue keep working on this project
• Find donation(crowdfunding and website) such as money and guitar
• Design lesson book
• Teachers
• Locations
• Students

This is very important to do this step in order make this project work. But the next step is to form a team for continue and marketing for budget in this project. But I’m strongly believe  this project will work and I will never give up because those people keep me up. It’s very important for your help by donation and to keep this project alive. 

We can’t moving forward without the past. One of a painfulness revolution was the Khmer Rouge Regime. We can’t forget our past and the pain of Cambodian. Now, the technology and everything were develop and music was growing again. There was a song writing contest that was about Khmer Rouge and I’m also joined it. My song called; Black Sun. The sun usually bright but during the Khmer Rouge Regime was black. It is an idiom. The result of the first round was great I’m also in the top 15.

There’s a Halloween event at Music Arts School and so I think it’s a great opportunity for me to join and perform. So I was confident when I was waiting for my turn, but soon it get closer, closer and closer I’m getting a bit nervous but it going great. I actually got a lot of views and people were cheering and claps. And this is my performance,

I’ve been improve more and more with music and so I has created a music independent discovery with Dalin(Liger friend). My role in that independent discovery is like a teach also I learnt from my teaching. I have taught her how to tone her voice with the tone of the instrument. Further more, we both had created a song which name, “Return” original song by Chhoeu and Dalin. Return

Cambodia is a developing country which means the education is at a level that needs to improve. Well, there’s a Startup Weekend event that lets people join and find any products their want to do, then they discover it as a business.

As there’s an opportunity is coming so I’m taking it. My friends and I join an event. It’s my first time to join this program. The program spent two and half day full. They tell everyone if they have any ideas they want to pitch and work on, let tell everyone. So there are 10 different pitches including me. Everyone ideas interesting, also my idea not bad at all.

My pitch is an application that helps the grade 12 students to get prepared for an exam. The app will provide an summarize as simple to understand as possible. Also, it will show the basic point of each subject, if they still not understand there is the video to watch. The most exciting section is practiced!!! The unique about this app that students can post questions and we’ll answer.

So I have 7 members including me, two developers, one designer, one educator, two are the business. An event requires every team to make this idea turn to business and also impact to education. Also, they taught us how to do a good pitch presentation and a great business.

My team did a very great job at working in a team. We had fun while we doing work and while we learn. My application call “Tos Rean(Let Learn)” and our quote is, “Let’s Learn, Let’s Pass”. Here is our prototype of an application.

Well, after we finished working we have to pitch to the judges and other teams. My team had received a contract from an organizer because of he like my idea before judges announced the result. I’m so excited for the result. It’s time!!! My heartbeat, boom! boom! Bom! very fast. The result shows that there are three teams win and all of them are ties. I’m shocked with the surprise because of my team also in top three. We all so happy with no words to say.

Judges and organizers want me to continue the project. I will continue the project because there is much help that will give my team. Based on this event make me learned many things about business. Thank my team for making a great work and also an organizer of the Startup Weekend Education Phnom Penh.
