TEDxISPP 2016

If the time is not waiting for you, why still you need to wait for it? So 2016, I’m in high school with lots of opportunities such as public speaking, attending in many different events and got more chance to share our works. I always tell myself to just take those opportunity and deal with it.

So there’s a TEDxISPP which hosted by ISPP students and including Liger students at the Blackbox Theater. I’m seeing this was a great opportunity and doing it. Actually, there were six Liger students who’ve involved in this event. Furthermore, without Liger mentor us, we also can’t make a particular speech. Thankfully to Caroline and Keith my Liger Facilitators for editing my work and took me through this tough challenge.

My topic was about inspires people to get up when there’re fail, discover themselves and making a right decision by seeing this world is beautiful. Also, I’m trying to prevent people to stop bully other. This topic inspire me by my experiences and also I got inspired by Nick Vujicic(inspires people around the world to get up). I took around two months to work on this and got a splendid results.

So the day is coming and this is it, the time to show the world who we are and let the world discover itself. I’m the first speaker out of 15 to present. When I’m waiting on the back stage I’m so worried inside but I tell myself to calm down. But soon I can’t event make sound. In a sudden, it’s time for me to talk and soon I stepped on the stage and see many eyes and I get so comfortable with those people and doing just fine as I could. I get more motivations from audiences. I told myself that, “I inspire people today and I’ll help people tomorrow.” Everything just great and thankfully for an organizer who had worked very difficult to make this event happen.

This is how it go…

Change_Agent

Our project is to interview change agents from Cambodia and all around the world. They could be Entrepreneurs, Founders, Social Enterprise and NGOs. The mission of this project is to inspire young entrepreneurs and students in Cambodia by our change agent’s advice. We tried to contact many people that we identified as change agents to do a Skype interview. Some of them are billionaires, millionaires, famous, success and not yet success. Not all of our change agents accept the interview but there are some interesting people accepted.

I’ve had sent the request to four change makers but I got only two reply. My strategy is to combine the goal between them and I, so we make them feel comfortable to give me the interview. Also I wrote in a way that touch someone feeling and they reply with positive words and agree to give the interview throughout Skype. One email that I sent was to Nick Vujicic(limbs guy who inspire people to get up) but I got a no answer but they reply lovely because they way we make connection and we touch their feeling. So I’ve interviewed Danny Weissberg (Co-founder & CEO of Voiceitt). Image result for danny weissberg

He has made an application call Talkitt which help transfer people with speech disabilities language to a proper sound that can understand. He has change many people life by his application and also he’ll bring Talkitt to market. He’s a great person to chose as a change agent. Based on this interview I have learnt that, we have to work on somethings that we’re passionate about and try hard. Passion creates engagement. We learn from what we do, work hard to make its true, one day it’ll comes to you. It’s really important that we have a full control of the company and find the right person to work with and make sure that we’ll have investors. Investors wants profits so we have to show or prove them that if they invested on our business they’ll get profits. Investors are really important to help us with developing the company. Sometimes you get rejections, people saying that its impossible and they are not interested also we’ll have a financial situation when we need more money. But you need to think it positively. If our business is about helping others people so we have to think that there are many people out there that need our help, so we have to make sure that we have to make this work.

I Learn Algebra In Green Room.

Course Description: In our Advanced Enrichment we learned about Math. This Advanced Enrichment lasted really long and the students had a really hard time working on that. We learned the hard math by learning it step by step. There are many clever students in this class and all of them are very patient. Every day in our class the math got harder and harder but we got smarter as the time kept going. Sometimes we realized that the math that we had learned could be used in real life. The important things that we learned for the whole year were negative numbers, the Greatest Common Factors, linear equations, y=mx+b form or Slope-interception, parabolas, Quadratic formula/equation, etc. All of these math sections were very hard. It is something that people will think that it is hard because they did not try yet and for those people who try they will think it is easy. But for us here we do not think it was hard or easy we were just trying our best.

Football is my dream (Movie)

This is a story that I directed and produce with my two others friends. It’s my second movie that I wrote. The first story I’ve finished it but I didn’t have time to film it. So the second story called “Football Is My Dream” which is about a boy who love playing football and because of his father, so he didn’t have a chance to play. Finally, he understand how important to let kid do what they want to do. Then he let him play football and his team won a trophy. It’s a hard work from all of us to make this film in short amount of time. We had used this film to contest in the Phnom Penh Youth Film Festival(PPYFF) and we got an award on best screen-play.

So this is the film…

Never Ended Exploration

People saying that my Project Evaluation class never ended and I heard it all the time. Now its different. We had finished the analysis and the final report. Well, for the final report my team have to preset to the secondary state of the ministry of education. Our recommendation help the ministry to improve the education in Cambodia. We’re kids but we work on this recommendation to change Cambodia. I’m proud to my self and my team mate that we can do this hard exploration with the difficult topic. People theory is wrong, my project actually ended. This is the best experience for me to carry on to the future and Change the whole country.

I’ve been around and saw many cool stuff that students has made. The most amazing thing was we had met the American Ambassador. My friends and I was surprise that we had met him. He actually knew Liger, then we had took a picture with him. Education is the only way to change. image1

My Music Independent Discovery

Well, the earth is spinning, so people have different thought and different talent. While the time is moving people also developing their owns skills or talents. Finally, I have my own discovery about music. I’ve learnt an advance level of the musician. Actually, guitar is coming the developing of the lute. In Spanish we called “guitarra” and Greek called “kithara”. For me I’ve been played the classic guitar, acoustic guitar and electric guitar. It not a big difference of each guitar, it’s just a difference type of guitar. For me I love
acoustic guitar.

Now I am working writing song. This is my quotes “Music comes from silence”DSC_2568

Project Evaluation

Well, as we are getting older we are getting harder. This year, I’ve been in a exploration with a massive topic for me, which is project evaluation. This is my first time of learning how to evaluate. This topic basically learnt in a collage or high school, but I’m just grade 9. It a bit hard for me to study a new topic and very very hard. By the way, I did it.

Here are my members:Program-Eval-Team-2

So let me tell you, Me and my team were evaluated the Project-based-learning(PBL) and Stem. so how to evaluate are these project are success or not? So we have to ask our self that “what are we evaluate? and why do we evaluate?”. These two question are what we always ask our self.

evaluation.

Basically, we focus on three criteria. There are relevancy, replicability and results and outcomes.

evaluation.

Relevancy means is it appropriate. That means if they do this project are there enough materials or resources or logistics need. Example, you want to sell a snowboard in Cambodia. Is Cambodia have snow? Is it relevancy?

Replicability means that can it be everywhere. That means can we implemented these  project(PBL and STEM) to all Cambodia government school. Example, you want to make a shop that sell computer in a rural area in Cambodia. Are they know how to use a computer? Do you think you can sell it to them? Is it replicability?

Result and Outcomes means how it goes or what changes. For us the result, we focus on how the students and teacher feel. That means were they happy when they do this project? The outcomes, we focus on the students product to do a presentation. So it easy to understand.

Basically, we used two strategies of evaluation are interviewing and observing. In the questionnaire we have open question and close question. After we do observing and interviewing, we collect the data and analysis the information(we used spreadsheet).

My team feedback’s of the evaluation process are:

  • More complicated than what we were thinking before coming to learn about project evaluation.
    • Learning about concept of project evaluation before evaluate project
    • Not easy to understand the criteria of the evaluation
    • Complicated – analysis-data collection
      • There are too many information, so it hard for us to think
    • Requires team collaboration
      • We can’t work alone to make this evaluation work
    • Mostly discussing
      • Everyday we always talked about the questionaires and analysis the information
    • Not easy to understand the criteria of the evaluation
      • Because of the vocabulary words like relevancy and replicability, so it take a lot of time for my mentor to explain and give example.
    • World as a classroom
      • Along the way to trip we also working and discussing. We not just work in class, we actually work everywhere that why we think world as a classroom.

My highlight of these project of evaluating is that it really hard for me and my team to interview the students because they never had this interview before and also when they saw their friends raise their hand they’re raise too.

DSC06047

So it really difficult to have a good information to analysis. Also, the easiest questions they didn’t understand like did you learn any things new from watching your friends presentation? and they didn’t understand. They always make a wonder face. When I asked they said what are you talking about!? Then we try to explained them and finally they answer our question and not raise their hand follow their friends. It is a good experience of interviewing skill for me for the future.

By the way, my team make a spectacular work. It hard for me to do this project but it a good experience for me.

Entrepreneurship 2

In Liger there was a exploration named Entrepreneurship and they were making a chilly sauce.Chilli Sauce 2

I’m the second group whose learned in that exploration. The things that I like that exploration are:

  1. I get to choose the job that I want to do

53167592.We always discuss in whole group about the problems and we’re solve it

9099073.I got to taste the chilli sauce with the fresh ingredients

4.Went on trips to give the customers tasting our chilli sauce

5.I can have made a video that talked about the chilli sauce.

6.We had made up a situation in real business like corruption, added value and more

7.Learned about the steps to start a business

drawing

8.While we learned a curriculum we also working on the business

That what I like in entrepreneur.

I learned so many things that about the business but I would like to tell you only one that I really think that is really important. One main thing that stayed with me since I learned in entrepreneur class is building trust. When the customers trust you and your product then next time they will buy again and tell others that want to buy that product. If the trust doesn’t have in your business your business will be fail.

Building-Trust

Also I had made a video about the Chilli Sauce business. The reason that I make the video is because everyone can says and post on the blog that says like “I’m work very hard.” Do you believe it? You won’t believe me one hundred percent. So I want to show and tell the investors that we are working really hard not just saying without trying hard, we actually do it hard for you investors.
Here check the video out:

Everyone was did a presentation but I’m just taking videos and I didn’t have a chance to present anything. Even those I’m glad for me that I have a cool job like taking video because everyone can’t remember what they have did on that day. I’m like their memory keeper. I try to get a good shot and it nice look.

Everyone in Liger was doing a wonder job. The presentation was good and I can’t said anything then this because everyone was really good with their passion to meet this day. We did the presentation very well and this is our learning.
