Female Frisbee League

If a man can play sport, why can’t a woman? If a man is a human, is a woman is human too?

Man and woman are having equal right in anything but society shaped woman to be less powerful than man. This is the world we’re all living in. This is the problem that we all need to tackle for the rights of every human being.

Female Frisbee League is a project that creates the first Cambodian frisbee league that is replicable and scalable, enabling empowerment of rural girls in Cambodia, challenging female stereotyping, through the facilitation of a more gender-equitable environment.

It was easy to motivate girls to play frisbee but it was hard to motivate them to train under the hot sun. But we still have many girls show up at the training. That’s my motivation to keep sacrificing my Saturday for the training. It’s a new sport for girls and Cambodia. But the girls did a great job during the training. Their smiles, encouragement, and teamwork inspired me to keep working hard with my team to make the league run smoothly. It turns out that everything went really well. We got Smart as our sponsor and we partner with the ministry to work with the schools in Kampong Speu. They’re very supportive which I believe that the frisbee project runs smoothly and hopefully can be replicated to other schools around Cambodia.

My main role in the project is a communicator between our sponsor and Liger. I need to contact Smart frequently to keep them update and get everything my team needs. I like this position because I can improve my networking skill with a wide range of people/companies. I also believe that it’s a good opportunity to show my skill to open up my job market in the future in the networking field. Moreover, I am a frisbee trainer.

I want to see every human being have an equal right in this world. This is my vision and this is my belief for Cambodia: everyone has the same opportunity and apart of the change-maker for this country.
